Union members at SK Hynix narrowly rejected a tentative wage agreement. Opponents accounted for 50.08% of the vote. A total of 7,535 members voted against the deal. Total participation reached 15,045 members.
The proposal offered a 6.3% wage increase. It also introduced a new performance-based bonus structure. The plan allocated 40% of profit-sharing bonuses in cash. The remaining 60% would be paid in company shares. Employees expressed concerns regarding potential stock price volatility.
Management and the union will now return to the negotiating table. This rejection marks the third consecutive year workers have turned down an initial proposal. Tensions persist despite record profits from high demand for AI memory chips.
