BYD unveiled the Qin MAX sedan on August 15 with a starting price of 99,900 yuan. The pricing positions the B-segment vehicle to compete directly against established joint-venture brands. This entry price undercuts many smaller A-segment models currently on the market.
The sedan features the second-generation Blade Battery and five-minute flash-charging from 10% to 70%. BYD also announced that its fleet of vehicles with assisted driving features now exceeds 3.52 million units.
The launch coincides with a global resurgence in hybrid vehicle popularity. Chinese automakers are leveraging this trend to drive significant international sales growth.
