Samsung Electronics broke ground on a new 240 billion won ($179 million) production line in Gwangju. The line will produce heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC) systems. Its subsidiary, FläktGroup, will operate the facility. The facility aims to meet surging demand for advanced cooling solutions. These solutions are for AI data centers and other high-tech manufacturing facilities.
The new plant spans 21,800 square meters. Full-scale operations will begin in early 2028. It will become FläktGroup's 15th global production base. The plant will manufacture specialized equipment. This includes coolant distribution units (CDUs) and computer room air handlers. This move is part of Samsung's strategy. Samsung aims to develop its HVAC business into a key growth engine. It will combine FläktGroup's technology with its own manufacturing expertise.
