Spanish developer Grenergy Renovables signed a strategic agreement with Contemporary Amperex Technology Co., Limited (CATL) for 1.5 gigawatt-hours (GWh) of battery storage.
CATL will supply 252 high-density TENER S lithium iron phosphate (LFP) containers. These units feature designs optimized for lifespan and efficiency in utility-scale projects.
The developer will deploy the systems across two major Spanish sites. The Oviedo facility will operate as a standalone battery project, while the Escuderos scheme will function as a hybrid solar-plus-storage installation.
This agreement expands the ongoing collaboration between the two firms. The companies previously completed a 1.25 GWh battery deal for the Oasis de Atacama project in Chile.
