CATL secured a battery supply agreement with global independent power producer ContourGlobal. The contract covers approximately 3 GWh of energy storage systems for projects in the United Kingdom, Greece, and Chile.

CATL will supply containerized liquid-cooling integrated Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS) using large-format lithium iron phosphate (LFP) cells. The agreement includes the 500 MW / 2,000 MWh Wallace energy storage project in Scotland. A separate 500 MW / 2,000 MWh portfolio is planned for Greece. The deal also includes the Victor Jara solar-plus-storage project in Chile.

CATL committed to recycling the batteries at the end of their operational life to meet European sustainability regulations.
