Contemporary Amperex Technology Co., Limited (CATL) and Quinbrook have reached new milestones for the Supernode battery energy storage system (BESS) project. The development stands as Australia's largest operational BESS campus. Stage 2 of the project has completed its commercial operation phase. Stage 3 recently secured A$469 million in new financing.
CATL serves as the core energy storage supplier for all three project stages. The total planned capacity for the campus exceeds 3 GWh. The company is deploying its EnerC Plus and TENER S systems for the site. CATL provides full lifecycle support to ensure long-term project reliability.
Total financing for the first three stages now amounts to approximately A$1.2 billion. The partnership underscores CATL’s ability to deliver scalable energy solutions. This project strengthens CATL’s position in the expanding global energy storage market.
