BYD reported its highest monthly sales of 2026 in August.
New energy vehicle (NEV) sales rose nearly 18% year-over-year to 440,293 units. This performance marks the company’s fourth consecutive month of year-over-year growth. Expanding overseas demand fueled the surge, offsetting continued weakness in the Chinese domestic market.
Passenger battery-electric vehicle (BEV) sales reached a record 256,230 units. BEV sales increased 28.38% compared to the previous year. Pure-electric models now account for a larger share of the total sales mix. Domestic sales figures remain below levels recorded in the previous year.
