Toyota Motor Corporation will enter its liquid hydrogen-powered GR Corolla in the Fuji 24 Hours Race. The vehicle features the world’s first superconducting liquid hydrogen pump.

This technology places the pump motor inside the fuel tank to leverage the -253°C temperature of liquid hydrogen. The integration increases fuel capacity by over 30% to 300 liters.

The design lowers the vehicle's center of gravity to improve driving dynamics. Toyota will also pair the hydrogen engine with a Direct Automatic Transmission (DAT) for the first time.

This development tests hydrogen engine technology under extreme motorsport conditions. The project supports Toyota’s multi-pathway strategy for achieving a carbon-neutral society.
