Toyota Motor Corp. and Joby Aviation have launched the Joby Toyota Aero Manufacturing Company. This joint venture will produce Joby’s S4 electric vertical takeoff and landing (eVTOL) aircraft.
Toyota holds a 51% majority stake in the new manufacturing entity. Joby Aviation retains the remaining 49% ownership.
The partnership aims to establish high-volume production for the commercial air taxi market. The venture will prioritize manufacturing productivity, quality control, and cost efficiency. This agreement formalizes a technical collaboration that has lasted nearly a decade.
