American Airlines and Dallas Fort Worth International Airport (DFW) opened the first phase of a major Terminal C expansion. The new pier adds nine gates to be operated by American Airlines. Six gates are currently operational, while the remaining three will open in the coming weeks.
This project is part of an approximately $3 billion overhaul of Terminal C. The facility serves as the primary terminal for the airline's largest and most profitable hub.
The expansion features modern amenities including dynamic glass windows and additional power outlets. Renovations will be completed in phases to minimize operational disruptions. This investment supports a broader capital plan that includes the construction of a new Terminal F to solidify long-term growth.
