American Airlines will ban large human- and animal-like robots from its aircraft, effective Monday, August 17. This prohibition applies to carry-on luggage, checked baggage, and robots transported in a purchased seat.
The airline cited risks from the robots' size, design, and large lithium-ion batteries as the primary reason. This move follows similar policies from major carriers Southwest, Delta, and United. It reflects a growing industry concern over advanced robotics transportation. Small robots and toys that meet existing size and battery requirements remain permitted.
