Elon Musk confirmed on X that SpaceX's Starlink satellite internet service will be available on American Airlines flights starting next year. American Airlines initially announced the agreement in May. The airline plans to install high-speed, low-latency Wi-Fi on over 500 narrowbody Airbus aircraft.

The rollout will begin in early 2027. It aims to provide significantly improved in-flight connectivity, supporting streaming, gaming, and real-time browsing from gate to gate. The deal currently excludes American Airlines' Boeing fleet, which will continue to use existing Wi-Fi providers.
