Applied Optoelectronics, Inc. (AAOI) partnered with Mediacom to accelerate fiber and coax network infrastructure upgrades.
AOI will serve as the primary vendor for Mediacom's DOCSIS 4.0 rollout. The company will supply Quantum18 amplifiers and QuantumLink remote management software.
The project aims to deliver faster internet speeds to approximately one million homes by the end of 2026.
AAOI shares traded up 5.82% on May 12. The rally reflects broader demand for optical networking components driven by the AI datacenter expansion.
