Apple delayed the launch of its first smart glasses, codenamed N50, by approximately six months.

Bloomberg reports the company will unveil the device at the Worldwide Developers Conference in June 2027. A full consumer release is scheduled for the end of 2027.

The delay stems from efforts to address privacy concerns and differentiate the product from Meta’s Ray-Ban glasses. Apple plans to utilize on-device processing and will exclude facial recognition features. The company will also prohibit the use of user recordings for AI training.

Management views a robust privacy strategy as essential for consumer adoption in the wearable category.
