Apple is limiting initial production of its first foldable iPhone to a few hundred units per day. Nikkei Asia reports the slow pace stems from the company's extremely high quality standards.
Apple began formal mass production in August following an additional round of trial production. Current output remains significantly below the tens of thousands of daily units needed to meet annual targets.
The company aims to produce between 8 million and 10 million foldable devices this year. Failure to accelerate the production ramp-up could result in supply shortfalls and consumer delays.
