OpenAI escalated its defense against an Apple lawsuit alleging the theft of hardware trade secrets. The company published a blog post titled Apple is getting this wrong, featuring internal iMessages and emails to counter Apple's claims.
OpenAI asserts that Apple’s lawyers contacted the wrong person and that a key discussion with its General Counsel never occurred. The released communications suggest Apple employees prompted a former staffer to access files after his departure to join OpenAI.
Apple filed the lawsuit in July. The legal action accuses former employees of systematically taking confidential data to benefit OpenAI’s hardware ambitions.
