AbbVie Lung Cancer Drug Hits 90% Response Rate in Early Trial

AbbVie presented new clinical data from its lung cancer research programs at the 2026 World Conference on Lung Cancer (WCLC). The company is developing a pipeline of next-generation immunotherapies and antibody-drug conjugates (ADCs).

Phase 1b data for ABBV-1480, an investigational PD-1/VEGF bispecific antibody, showed a 90.0% objective response rate in squamous non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC). The therapy achieved a 75.9% response rate in non-squamous NSCLC when used as a first-line treatment with chemotherapy.

AbbVie also released safety data for ABBV-706 in small cell lung cancer (SCLC). This investigational treatment demonstrated manageable toxicities in clinical trials.
