Archer Aviation completed the first piloted, city-to-city roundtrip flight of its Midnight electric aircraft. The flight occurred between Salinas and Hollister, California.
The 40-mile roundtrip journey was part of the company's "No Roads" tour. Each 12-minute leg demonstrated significant time savings. This compares to the 40-minute drive between the two cities.
The flight represents a key step in Archer's transition from testing to commercial operations.
The tour, conducted in coordination with the FAA, aims to build operational experience for planned services. These services include participation in the White House's eVTOL Integration Pilot Program. They also include operations in Los Angeles for the LA28 Olympic Games. The tour will continue with planned flights to other California cities.
