AECOM secured a contract from ANA Aeroportos de Portugal S.A., a VINCI Airports subsidiary, to provide the preliminary design for the New Lisbon Airport. The facility, named Luis de Camões Airport, will serve as a world-class international hub for Portugal’s capital.
The project aims to significantly expand aviation capacity and stimulate regional economic growth. AECOM will lead the initial design phase alongside local Portuguese partners. The firm will provide a comprehensive suite of technical, design, and project management services.
The new airport will be located within the municipalities of Benavente and Montijo. It will replace the existing Humberto Delgado Airport, which currently faces severe expansion constraints.
