Adani Ports and Special Economic Zone Ltd (APSEZ) has commenced full export-import (EXIM) operations at the Vizhinjam International Seaport in Kerala. This transition converts the facility from a transshipment hub into a comprehensive international cargo gateway.

CEO Ashwani Gupta stated the move provides exporters a direct route to global markets. The shift aims to improve international competitiveness for Indian MSMEs.

The port handled over 2.3 million TEUs during its first year of transshipment operations. The facility has already serviced several of the world’s largest container vessels.

APSEZ committed an additional Rs 16,000 crore for Phase 2 development to expand capacity significantly. Following the announcement, brokerage firm Bernstein raised its target price for Adani Ports to Rs 1,973. Analysts cited increased volume growth estimates for FY27 driven by strong performance across international ports.
