Riyadh Air announced firm orders for 34 widebody jets at the Farnborough Airshow. The deal splits the commitment between manufacturers Airbus and Boeing.
The airline ordered six additional Airbus A350-1000 aircraft. This purchase brings the total firm commitment for the A350-1000 to 31 units.
Riyadh Air also exercised options for 28 Boeing 787 Dreamliners. The agreement converts 20 of these options into the larger 787-10 variant.
Saudi Arabia’s sovereign wealth fund provides the financial backing for the carrier. The airline aims to serve more than 100 global destinations. It plans to reach this network goal by 2030. This expansion supports the kingdom's Vision 2030 plan to become a global aviation hub.
