Airbus slowed deliveries of its A330neo widebody jet following a quality issue in the horizontal tail plane. Inspectors reportedly discovered a stray tool inside the tail section of an aircraft during a pre-delivery check.
The disruption halted handovers for nearly three months, with zero deliveries recorded in June and July. Airbus delivered only a single A330neo jet in August.
The production slowdown occurred while the A330neo program maintains its largest-ever order backlog. Airbus has identified the root cause of the isolated incident and confirmed that deliveries have resumed.
