Airbus confirmed a firm order from Riyadh Air for six additional A350-1000 aircraft. This deal was finalized on the opening day of the Farnborough International Airshow. The agreement increases the airline's total firm commitment for the wide-body jet to 31 units.
The order is part of an original commitment made in 2025. That initial agreement covered up to 50 A350-1000s. Riyadh Air will become the first carrier in Saudi Arabia to operate this specific model.
The new fleet supports a strategy to serve over 100 international destinations. The airline aims to reach this target by 2030. This growth aligns with the Saudi Arabia Vision 2030 objectives.
Riyadh Air also announced a significant expansion of its Boeing 787 Dreamliner fleet.
