REalloys Inc. (NASDAQ: ALOY) secured a conditional long-term lease from the U.S. Army to operate at the Tooele Army Depot in Utah. This agreement establishes the first commercial critical-mineral processing facility located on a U.S. military installation.
REalloys will design, finance, and operate the facility without the use of taxpayer subsidies. The plant will refine heavy rare earths including dysprosium and terbium. These minerals are essential for precision-guided munitions, electric motors, and sonar systems.
Project development is targeted to begin in 2027. Operations are scheduled to start no later than 2028. This timeline aligns with a January 1, 2027, federal ban on Chinese-sourced materials for the defense industrial base.
