AMD documentation on its GPUOpen website indicates a future multi-frame generation (MFG) update for FidelityFX Super Resolution (FSR). The update features a “Frame Generation Upgrade Ratio” option.

This setting potentially enables 3x or 4x performance scaling. Current technology limits scaling to 2x.

The feature competes with advanced capabilities from NVIDIA’s DLSS and Intel’s XeSS. AMD confirmed ML-based MFG development at GDC 2026. This documentation provides the first implementation details.

The feature may remain exclusive to upcoming RDNA 4 graphics cards.
