Advanced Micro Devices and Rackspace Technology announced the signing of a definitive agreement for the phased deployment of an initial 30 MW of AMD-powered AI compute across Rackspace's global data centers. This formalizes a Memorandum of Understanding from May 2026 and establishes AMD as a key strategic technology partner for Rackspace's governed AI solutions for enterprises. The deployment is scheduled to begin in late 2026 and continue through 2028.
The collaboration will utilize both AMD Instinct GPUs and EPYC CPUs to deliver a complete AI stack, from bare metal to inference-as-a-service, targeting regulated industries like healthcare. Following the announcement, shares of Rackspace Technology surged significantly in premarket trading, while AMD's stock also saw a modest increase.
