Amentum (NYSE: AMTM) will negotiate with the U.S. Department of Energy’s National Nuclear Security Administration (NNSA) for a large-scale infrastructure project. This public-private partnership focuses on a 1-gigawatt AI data center at the Savannah River Site in South Carolina.
The project includes approximately 2 gigawatts of dedicated on-site power generation. The facility will initially utilize natural gas before transitioning to advanced nuclear energy.
This initiative addresses rising AI energy demands while strengthening U.S. national security and energy resilience. The parties have not disclosed financial terms or a specific timeline as lease negotiations begin.
