Amazon expands its warehousing network in China, establishing new facilities near major ports. This improves supply chain efficiency for its global seller base. The expansion includes a distribution center near Shanghai's Yangshan port. A facility in Shenzhen is also part of the initiative. A forthcoming warehouse will be in Ningbo.
This initiative is part of Amazon's Global Warehousing and Distribution (GWD) program. The program helps sellers manage inventory, customs, and cross-border logistics. The move aims to streamline goods shipment from China. More than half of Amazon's global sellers are based in China. Shipments target the U.S. and other international markets. The expansion helps Amazon compete with fast-growing e-commerce rivals like Shein and Temu.
