Amazon signed a multi-year, multi-billion dollar agreement with Corning for optical fiber and connectivity solutions. This partnership secures the domestic supply chain for Amazon Web Services (AWS) data centers. The investment specifically supports the expansion of artificial intelligence infrastructure.
The deal creates 1,000 new manufacturing jobs at Corning facilities in North Carolina. Plant expansions will also support hundreds of additional construction jobs.
Corning and Catawba Valley Community College will expand a technician training program to build a local workforce. This agreement follows similar large-scale fiber deals Corning recently secured with Meta and Nvidia.
