Amazon will construct a new multi-billion dollar robotics manufacturing facility in Austin, Texas. The project expects to create 300 to 500 new manufacturing and engineering jobs.

Amazon currently employs over 86,000 people in Texas.

The new plant will be located in East Austin's "Dog's Head" district. It will produce advanced robotics systems designed to work alongside employees in Amazon's fulfillment centers.

Amazon cited Austin's skilled workforce and strong university partnerships as key reasons for the selection.

This expansion deepens Amazon's investment in Texas. The company's investment in the state has exceeded $100 billion since 2010.
