Amazon is exploring the sale of its custom Trainium AI chips to external data-center customers. This move shifts the hardware from exclusive AWS use to the broader market, positioning Amazon as a direct competitor to Nvidia and AMD.
AWS AI head Swami Sivasubramanian stated that decreasing enterprise computing costs will drive higher workload volumes. Amazon expects these lower AI expenses to significantly expand its operating margins.
Additionally, the company announced its upcoming Prime Day event is scheduled for June 23-26.
