Ares Management is exploring the sale of approximately €3 billion in limited partner interests. The potential transaction involves its flagship European direct lending fund, Ares Capital Europe IV. Discussions are currently underway with specialist credit secondaries investors.

If completed, the deal would rank among the largest in the private credit secondaries market to date. The sector is expanding rapidly as investors seek liquidity amid slower M&A and exit markets. These conditions have extended holding periods for many private credit funds.

Ares remains an active participant in this sector and recently raised $7.1 billion for its own private credit secondaries strategy. Current talks are ongoing and may not result in a final transaction. Recent filings also indicate new stakes from institutional investors.
