Arm introduced the Neoverse Compute Subsystem (CSS) N4, a semi-custom platform for data center and cloud infrastructure. Codenamed Ranger, the platform allows customers to create specialized chips with 8 to 128 Neoverse N4 cores per die. The system utilizes TSMC’s advanced N3P process node.
The CSS N4 delivers twice the socket performance of its predecessor. It also offers 1.25 times the performance per watt. The platform is validated for both TSMC’s and Samsung’s upcoming 2-nanometer and 3-nanometer processes.
This release strengthens Arm’s position against x86-based processors from Intel and AMD. Partners can configure core counts, cache, and I/O to match specific workloads. The platform aims to significantly accelerate the development of custom silicon.
