US Mobile's CEO, Ahmed Khattak, announced plans to roll out AST SpaceMobile's direct-to-cell coverage on its Verizon-based network, known as Warp, during the fourth quarter of 2026. This service will allow standard smartphone users to connect to satellites when they are outside the range of terrestrial cellular networks. Verizon is a commercial partner and investor in AST SpaceMobile.
This development is a significant step towards the commercialization of AST SpaceMobile's technology. The company has been rapidly deploying its BlueBird satellites, with the recent full deployment of BlueBirds 12 and 13. AST SpaceMobile aims to have approximately 45 satellites in orbit by early 2027 to provide continuous service in key markets and has reiterated its 2026 revenue guidance of $150 million to $200 million.
