Boeing has presented a new contract offer to the Society of Professional Engineering Employees in Aerospace (SPEEA). The union represents approximately 17,000 engineers and technical workers. The negotiating team endorsed the proposal, citing improved work-life balance and meaningful value.
The agreement averts a potential strike that threatened certification for the 737 MAX 10 and 777-9 jetliners. Both aircraft programs are currently years behind schedule.
Union officials will review the terms and provide a recommendation to members next week. The current contract is set to expire on October 6.
