Boeing and AerCap announced an order for 15 787-9 Dreamliner jets at the Farnborough International Airshow.

The purchase expands AerCap’s total 787 fleet to approximately 140 aircraft. This deal cements AerCap’s position as the world’s largest owner of the Dreamliner.

AerCap cited growing demand for modern, fuel-efficient widebody airplanes as the driver for the agreement. The contract includes substitution rights to convert orders to the larger 787-10 model.

Financial terms of the transaction were not disclosed.
