Philippine Airlines (PAL) will split a 24-jet widebody order between Boeing and Airbus. The carrier is purchasing 15 Boeing 787-10 Dreamliners. The deal also includes nine Airbus A350-1000s. This marks PAL’s first aircraft purchase from Boeing in nearly 20 years.
Industry sources expect a formal announcement at the Farnborough Airshow. The fleet modernization strategy targets expansion on long-haul routes to North America and Europe. These new jets will replace older, less fuel-efficient aircraft.
