BHP Group reported a 30% increase in underlying attributable profit to $13.2 billion for the fiscal year ending June 30, 2026. Attributable profit rose 9% to reach $9.8 billion. The company reduced its net debt to $8.7 billion from $12.9 billion in the prior year.
The copper division generated over $18 billion in underlying EBITDA. This performance marked the first time copper contributed more than half of the company's total underlying EBITDA. BHP produced nearly 2 million tonnes of copper for the second consecutive year and achieved record iron ore production.
BHP declared a fully franked final dividend of $0.99 per share. Total cash returns for the fiscal year reached $8.7 billion. These results position copper as the primary driver of the miner's long-term growth strategy.
