BMW launched series production of the all-electric i3 sedan at its Munich facility.
The i3 is the second vehicle built on the Neue Klasse platform following the iX3 SUV.
This model serves as the electric successor to the BMW 3 Series.
The launch follows a four-year transformation of the historic Munich plant.
BMW is accelerating production to meet high demand since orders opened in June.
The company plans for the Munich site to produce exclusively electric vehicles by 2027.
