Burlington Stores will move its corporate headquarters from Burlington Township, New Jersey, to Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. The Fortune 500 retailer plans to invest approximately $370 million in a new Schuylkill Yards facility. This relocation will move 1,500 existing employees and create 500 new jobs in Philadelphia.

The transition is scheduled to begin no earlier than late 2028. Burlington Stores confirmed there will be no layoffs during this process. The company’s New Jersey warehouse and distribution centers will remain fully operational.

Pennsylvania and Philadelphia are providing financial incentives, including grants and a forgivable loan. Some New Jersey officials have criticized the move, citing concerns over the state's business climate.
