Cipher Mining is rebranding as Cipher Digital to transition from Bitcoin mining to AI and High-Performance Computing (HPC) data centers.
The company secured over $11 billion in long-term contracted lease revenue through this strategic pivot. A 15-year agreement with Amazon Web Services (AWS) accounts for $5.5 billion of that total. This deal will provide 300 MW of data center capacity.
Cipher also signed multi-year contracts with other major clients, including Google-backed Fluidstack. The shift leverages existing large-scale power infrastructure to meet rising AI computing demand. This model aims to generate stable revenue streams compared to the volatile cryptocurrency market.
