Canadian National Railway (CNR) transported a record 33.8 million metric tonnes (MMT) of Western Canadian grain during the 2025-26 crop year. This total surpasses the previous record of 32.6 MMT set in 2024-25. The company moved 2.62 MMT in July, marking a new monthly record.
High customer demand and effective supply chain collaboration drove the performance. Consistent operational execution also supported the record volumes.
CNR released its 2026-27 Grain Plan alongside the announcement. The strategy outlines preparations for the upcoming harvest to maintain service reliability.
