Coinbase launched a derivatives suite for professional investors in the United Kingdom. The offering includes perpetual futures, dated futures, and options. This rollout follows the company's acquisition of a MiFID license to provide regulated investment products.
The launch supports Coinbase's Everything Exchange strategy. Eligible clients will receive progressive access to over 170 contracts. These contracts span crypto, commodities, equities, and foreign exchange markets.
Perpetual futures products feature 24/7 trading availability. These products offer leverage of up to 50x. By targeting professional clients, Coinbase navigates the UK's existing ban on retail crypto derivatives.
