Coinbase launched a high-performance matching engine for its Deribit derivatives platform to enhance institutional trading. The new system processes more than 100,000 orders per second. It operates with sub-millisecond latency to provide faster and more scalable execution.

This upgrade aligns Deribit’s technology with the Coinbase International Exchange. The unified platform aims to attract high-frequency market makers by enabling deeper liquidity and tighter spreads.

Coinbase plans to migrate its perpetual futures products to the same engine later this year. This transition will integrate the company’s global options and futures infrastructure.
