Societatea Energetica Electrica S.A. shareholders approved a €235 million investment project in Craiova on August 20, 2026. The initiative involves constructing new electricity and thermal energy production capacities.
The facilities will supply thermal energy to the Craiova District Heating System. The plant will also support the industrial operations of Ford Otosan Romania.
Shareholders authorized the company to contract up to €250 million in loans to fund the development. The Board of Directors received a mandate to negotiate and sign all necessary implementation and financing contracts.
