Elbit Systems and Serbia will inaugurate a joint unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) factory near Belgrade. President Aleksandar Vucic scheduled the opening between September 15 and 20. Elbit holds a 51% majority stake in the facility. Serbiaβs state-owned Jugoimport SDPR retains the remaining 49% interest.
The factory anchors a defense contract valued at $1.63 billion. This agreement covers a five-year term. The contract reached confirmation in August 2025. Elbit will supply the Serbian military with long-range precision rockets and advanced UAVs. The deal includes intelligence and surveillance (ISTAR) capabilities, electronic warfare, and battlefield communication systems.
