Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic announced a new drone factory will open between September 15 and September 20. Elbit Systems holds a 51% majority stake in the joint venture with state-owned arms company SDPR.
The facility operates under a five-year defense contract valued at $1.63 billion. This announcement confirms Serbia as the previously anonymous European country that signed the massive 2023 Elbit deal.
The agreement covers unmanned aerial systems for intelligence and attack missions. Elbit will also supply precision long-range artillery and advanced intelligence gathering systems. The contract includes electro-optic systems, battlefield vehicle upgrades, and comprehensive military digitization solutions.
