Fortinet (NASDAQ: FTNT) acquired Virtue AI to integrate specialized protection into its AI-Native Security Fabric. Virtue AI provides runtime protection, automated validation, and security for autonomous AI systems. While financial terms were not disclosed, Fortinet confirmed the acquisition cost is not material to its business operations.
The deal addresses the growing attack surface associated with deploying AI applications and autonomous agents. Virtue AI’s technology includes red-teaming for agentic systems and real-time protection features.
Fortinet will use the acquisition to extend the capabilities of existing products like FortiAIGate. This integration provides continuous validation and security throughout the AI lifecycle, from initial development to runtime.
