China’s Ministry of Commerce confirmed an agreement with the United States on Saturday to purchase airplanes, jet engines, and related components. GE Aerospace benefits as a major engine developer for the deal.
The announcement followed a Beijing visit by former President Donald Trump and a business delegation including GE Aerospace CEO Larry Culp. Culp recently met with China’s state planner, raising expectations for new engine orders.
The ministry did not release specific details regarding the order size or delivery timeline. Former President Trump previously mentioned a potential 200-aircraft deal involving Boeing.
