GE Vernova Hitachi Nuclear Energy and Samsung C&T will develop a 1.2 GW nuclear project for Studsvik in Sweden. The initial agreement covers a four-unit project.

The units will utilize GE Vernova’s BWRX-300 small modular reactor technology. The first unit is scheduled to become operational by the mid-2030s.

Development will occur at either Studsvik’s licensed facility in Nyköping or a site in Valdemarsvik. GE Vernova Hitachi will lead reactor design and licensing support. Samsung C&T will join the execution team to support Sweden’s nuclear capacity expansion.
